SDCC 2011: VOLTRON MOVIE, VIDEO GAME, TOYS, COMICS ANNOUNCED

From CBR.com
A plethora of news came out of the SDCC in regards to one of my favorite toons from the '80s - Voltron!

Relativity Media announced they have acquired the rights to a live action Voltronfilm, with what appears to be come quality names attached.

Voltron will have Atlas Entertainment's Roven (The Dark Knight) and Richard Suckle (The International) on as producers, in addition to Kickstart Entertainment's Jason Netter (Wanted). World Events Productions' Ted Koplar ("Voltron Force") will executive produce. The script is being penned by Thomas Dean Donnelly (Conan the Barbarian) and Joshua Oppenheimer (Sahara).

A Voltron video game was also unveiled from THQ for the Playstation Network and XBox Live, as well. Original clips from the cartoon will be present with similar moments re-created for the game, including discovering the Lions. It is available October 25th for $10.

A new line of toys (below) and a comic from Dynamite Entertainment are also in the works.
